Water Under the Bridge

This morning we cut through the upper peninsula of Michigan and traversed the Keweenaw Waterway. Here is a picture of our mast just clearing the bottom of the bridge. It was a puckering moment for Pat. Rob and Tom just closed their eyes.

Here is the bridge behind us as we continue on. If you look carefully you can see the markings on the side of the bridge that take the guesswork out of the height of the bridge over water. They take the guesswork out, but not the puckering.

Gotta go, Pat is making us oatmeal as a reward for not falling asleep on watch last night. The spectacular lightning show helped keep us awake, too!

  1. Glad to hear that you are doing better than that first "difficult" leg. I missed wishing you off personally, Pat, and do so now electronically. Be safe, know that many of us are thinking of you and your entire crew and will keep you in our thoguhts and prayers! You know, there is still time to re-think that alcohol policy before you hit the "open seas"!

  2. Thanks, David. We are getting along well despite the alcohol policy. It helps that we have had to stop every two or three days as we make our way through locks and cities that connect the Great Lakes. We will keep up the blog and keep it interesting.
